Rohit Sharma is an Indian cricketer. He is primarily known for his work in Indian International Cricket team. Born on 30 April 1987, he completed his schooling from Swami Vivekanand International School and Our Lady of Vailankanni High School in Mumbai. Right after starting his cricket career at the age of 20, he earned praise for his calm and matured performances on the ground. Due to his hard hitting ability, the right handed batsman is known as “The Hitman”. He is also the captain of IPL team Mumbai Indians. - He was born in Nagpur but his family moved to Dombivali in Mumbai’s suburbs when he was 2 years old.
- His family’s financial condition was not really good and so he was sent to his Grandparents house where he started playing Galli Cricket.

He was born in Nagpur into a middle class Hindu family. His father name is Gurunath Sharma who worked as a caretaker in a transport firm storehouse and mother name is Purnima Sharma, a housewife. - Being born in middle class family, he lived at his grandparent’s house owing to low income of his father.

- He came to everyone’s notice during ICC U19 World Cup in 2006 where he has scored 205 runs in tournament with the average of 41. He even hit 78 against team Sri Lanka in group stage match and became the Man of the Match.
- In 2006, he impressed everyone while playing for West Zone at his List A debut match against Central Zone. On that tournament, he made 142 unbeaten runs against North Zone.

- Rohit made his T20 debut against team England in ICC World Cup T20 in 2007 but still didn’t get to bat. But luckily he was included in the team at the last minute after cricketer Yuvraj Singh got injured. He used the opportunity well and made 50 not out becoming Man of The Match.

- After his debut at International cricket, his first success was during the first final of Commonwealth Bank series 2008 against Australia where he made 66 runs. He made 123 runs partnership with Sachin Tendulkar and win the match for team India.
- In 2013, he decided to open the innings against team England. At that time, he had a poor batting average and did not have a fixed spot in the team. In that match, he made match winning 83 runs and continued to open the innings during the entire ICC Champions Trophy. He then made 65 and 52 against team South Africa and West Indies respectively.
- Later, his capabilities came in Jaipur ODI against team Australia in 2013 where he made 141* and lead India to win while chasing for the target of 360 runs.
